Gyrationis

€10.00

Premiere

14h, 16/6/2018 - Festival New Music: touchpoints - Lisboa Incomum (PT) - Miłosz Drogowski (Violoncello)

Programme notes

Gyrationis, meaning rotation in Latin, is a miniature for violoncello which can be played from start to finish or in a loop. It can “rotate”. Both the rhythmic and pitch sequences were derived from a mathematical sequence in mind. This doesn't necessarily mean that I wasn't able to include a disguised theme that keeps reappearing with slight variations.

Written between 2011-2012 and revised between 2013-2014-2018 as part of my High School in Music Composition at the Conservatório de Música Calouste Gulbenkian de Braga (PT).
